Amid the ongoing kingship dispute in Epe town, Hon. Wale Raji, Member of the House of Representatives for Epe Federal Constituency, has urged community members to act with justice and protect the town’s core traditional values.

EpeInsights reports that the lawmaker spoke during the 2025 Ojude Oba Festival held at the King Kosoko Embankment Centre in Epe which coincided with a special prayer for the late Olu-Epe, Oba Shefiu Adewale.

Hon. Wale Raji, reminded residents of the foundational principles upheld by past monarchs: the throne, Islam, and Epe’s cultural heritage.

He praised former Lagos Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode for upgrading the Olu-Epe stool from a second-class to a first-class status and emphasized the Central Mosque as a symbol of the town’s spiritual legacy.

Hon. Raji’s comments come as Epe grapples with a leadership tussle between High Chief Musiliu Adeniyi Kadri Odedeogboro, the Olu-Epe elect, and rival contender High Chief Iskilu Olajide Ikuforiji.

The situation prompted Epe Local Government Chairman, Princess Surah Animashaun, to suspend the installation process pending further review.

As community leaders and residents continue to advocate for fairness, calm and adherence to traditional processes, Hon. Raji called on all stakeholders to prioritize unity and uphold the values that define Epe’s identity.Epe Kingship Tussle: Hon. Wale Raji Calls for Justice, Cultural Preservation
