The Education Secretary, Hon. Shittu Aliu Idowu, has commenced an extensive monitoring exercise across selected public primary schools in Agbowa-Ikosi and Ikosi-Ejinrin areas of Epe Federal Constituency.
Epe Insights reports that the monitoring tour focused on assessing compliance with the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education academic calendar for the commencement of the third term of the 2025/2026 academic session.
During the exercise, the Education Secretary visited Local Government Primary School, Agbowa-Ikosi, Methodist Primary School, Agbowa-Ikosi, and Baptist Day Primary School, Agbowa-Ikosi, Epe.
The visitation aimed to evaluate the level of compliance with resumption directives and ensure that academic activities began fully from the first day of resumption across public primary schools in the area.
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Shittu Aliu Idowu expressed satisfaction with the turnout of both teachers and pupils in the schools visited.
He commended school administrators, teachers, and parents for their commitment to ensuring a smooth resumption for the new academic term.
The Education Secretary reiterated that the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board remains committed to ensuring that no child is denied access to quality education.
According to him, one of the major priorities of the Board is to guarantee that every pupil resumes learning activities immediately schools reopen without unnecessary delays.

Hon. Idowu also stressed the importance of discipline, punctuality, and dedication among teachers to improve learning outcomes within public primary schools.
He noted that continuous monitoring and supervision remain essential to sustaining educational standards and improving the overall quality of teaching and learning in Lagos State schools.
The Education Secretary further assured schools, especially those located in developing communities, of the Board’s commitment to providing the necessary support and learning resources required for effective teaching.
He explained that the state government remains focused on bridging gaps in educational quality and creating equal learning opportunities for pupils across different communities.
Teachers and school administrators who interacted with the Education Secretary appreciated the monitoring exercise and described it as encouraging for both staff and pupils.
