The Lagos State Council Chairmen’s Wives Association (LASCCWA), led by its President, Dr. Mrs. Kehinde Olushola Razaq Ajala, held its monthly meeting and empowerment programme today in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, bringing a wave of support and community impact to residents.
EpeInsights reports that the event which was well-attended was co-hosted by Mrs. Jemila Olowa and Mrs. Ramat Bola Kasali, Chairpersons of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Lekki LCDA respectively, and attracted dignitaries, local officials and dozens of beneficiaries.
In his opening remarks, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki LG, praised the LASCCWA members for their unwavering dedication to community development and grassroots empowerment.
“You are the salt of the earth, your passion and prayers continue to strengthen us as leaders. You exemplify how women at the third tier of government can drive impactful change.” He said.
He described the group as “The Rock of Gibraltar,” underscoring their vital role in supporting governance at the local level.
Also lending his voice, Hon. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, Chairman of Lekki LCDA, applauded the association’s efforts.
“Your unity is inspiring. Your actions are not only supportive but transformational. I commend your commitment to building stronger communities.”
A key highlight of the event was the empowerment of residents from both Ibeju-Lekki and Lekki LCDA with essential tools and financial aid.
Items distributed included sewing machines, grinding machines, makeup kits and cash support all aimed at improving livelihoods and boosting small-scale businesses.
In her address, Dr. Mrs. Kehinde Razaq Ajala emphasized the association’s mission to uplift vulnerable groups, especially women and children, while complementing the efforts of their spouses in leadership roles.
“LASCCWA is more than a network of chairmen’s wives it is a movement for change,” she said. “We are here to build families, empower women, and make a difference where it truly matters at the grassroots.”
The event ended on a high note, with beneficiaries expressing heartfelt appreciation for the life-changing support and the enduring commitment of LASCCWA to community well-being.
