As the world marks World Teachers’ Day 2025, the lawmaker representing Epe Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Wale Raji, has paid glowing tribute to teachers across Nigeria, describing them as “nation builders, moral beacons, and shapers of destinies.”
EpeInsights reports that in a goodwill message released on Sunday, Rep. Raji posed a thought-provoking question — “How would there be a world without teachers?” — while commending the resilience, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment of educators in shaping the future of generations.
He noted that teachers remain the backbone of every thriving society, working tirelessly in both urban and rural communities to mold young minds irrespective of tribe, religion, or social status.
“Teachers are the unsung heroes changing the world one child at a time,” Raji stated. “Your tireless efforts continue to light the path for our young ones, and your influence is beyond measure.”
Aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Rep. Raji reaffirmed his legislative and developmental focus on education as a key driver of social equity and national transformation.
He highlighted several strategic interventions facilitated under his representation, including the construction and furnishing of modern classroom blocks across both rural and urban areas of Epe.
According to him, these projects have significantly improved the teaching and learning environment, leading to measurable impacts such as an increase in the number of principals, head teachers, and administrative personnel in newly established schools; improved working conditions and morale for teaching staff; enhanced learning experiences and better outcomes for students; and expanded access to education for underserved communities, ensuring that no child is left behind.
“These infrastructural renewals are not just buildings,” Raji emphasized. “They are enabling environments where both teachers and learners can thrive.”
The lawmaker reassured teachers across the constituency particularly those in riverine and remote areas of his continuous commitment to improving their welfare and professional support. “We understand that a motivated teacher births a transformed generation, we will continue to work with relevant stakeholders, both public and private, to ensure that your noble service is matched with dignity, reward and respect” he said.
Rep. Raji also urged teachers to uphold integrity and moral excellence, stressing that the teaching profession must remain a pillar of uprightness and virtue.
He called on educators to consciously avoid acts that could undermine the dignity of the profession. “Our children deserve not just education but the right values imparted by men and women of high moral standing,” he noted.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Rep. Raji thanked teachers across Epe Federal Constituency, Lagos State, and Nigeria for their steadfast dedication to nurturing future leaders. “Thank you for showing up every day. Thank you for believing in the future. Thank you for your unwavering love for knowledge and humanity,” he said.
He concluded by calling for sustained collaboration to ensure teachers truly thrive in an environment that values and supports their contributions. “As we commemorate World Teachers’ Day 2025, may we continue to work hand-in-hand to secure the destiny of our great nation,” he said.
