As schools across Lagos State and Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) resumed for a new academic session today, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (RBK), has extended a warm welcome to pupils, teachers, and parents, while announcing a major boost to learning facilities within the council.
EpeInsights reports that the Kasali-led administration, in partnership with Yeshua’s Arm NGO, has successfully established four new libraries across public primary schools in the LCDA in a move designed to promote literacy and support a stronger reading culture among children.
The new facilities were set up at RCM Primary School, Okunraye; RCM Primary School, Lekki; St. David’s Anglican Primary School, Oshoroko; and Oriyanrin Local Government Primary School.
Speaking on the development, Hon. Kasali urged pupils to make the most of the libraries, describing them as vital resources that will not only aid academic excellence but also nurture a culture of curiosity, independent learning, and creativity among young learners.
He further encouraged parents and teachers to complement the effort by guiding children to embrace reading as a habit that builds knowledge, confidence, and lifelong skills.
“As we begin this new academic journey filled with learning and growth, let us work together to make this session a success,” he said, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to supporting education through infrastructure development, partnerships and innovative programmes.
The initiative has been widely commended by education stakeholders across Lekki LCDA, who described it as a timely intervention that will expand learning opportunities for pupils and strengthen the overall academic environment in the area.
