The Lagos State Government has announced that repair works will commence on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road from Bonny Camp Junction beginning Monday, September 15, 2025, and will last until Sunday, September 21, 2025.

EpeInsights reports that the Ministry of Transportation, in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the works will be executed at night between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. daily to minimize disruption to daytime traffic along the busy corridor.

The commissioner noted that Ozumba Mbadiwe remains a strategic route linking Victoria Island, Lekki and Ikoyi to the mainland and other parts of the city.

He assured residents and motorists that the state government is committed to maintaining road infrastructure to ensure smooth vehicular movement and improve road safety.

“This repair exercise is scheduled for nighttime in order to reduce inconvenience to road users during the day. We appeal to motorists to drive cautiously and comply with traffic management personnel who will be on ground to ease movement throughout the duration of the works,” Osiyemi stated.

The Ministry urged motorists to exercise patience while plying the axis, stressing that the temporary discomfort will lead to long-term improvements in road quality and travel experience.

Traffic management officers will be deployed to the corridor throughout the week-long exercise to guide motorists and ensure safety.

The Lagos State Government reiterated its commitment to sustainable infrastructure renewal across the state, assuring that more critical roads will undergo phased rehabilitation as part of ongoing efforts to enhance mobility and economic productivity.LASG to Commence Night Repairs on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Urges Motorists’ Patience
