INEC CVR: Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Chairman Urges Residents to Participate

As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) sets August 18, 2025, as the kickoff date for the nationwide Continuous Voters Registration (CVR), the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has called on residents to take full advantage of the exercise.

EpeInsights quotes INEC as saying that the CVR will be conducted in two phases, online pre-registration via cvr.inecnigeria.org, starting August 18, and physical registration at all local government and LCDA secretariats nationwide from August 25.

The process will allow Nigerians to register afresh, update their personal details, or transfer their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) to preferred polling units.

Akogun Anomo stressed the importance of the exercise, particularly for young citizens who have just turned 18 but are yet to register. He noted that early participation would ensure smooth preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The CVR will also accommodate residents seeking to replace defaced, damaged, or lost PVCs, as well as those wishing to change their polling location.

“Our PVC is our power. It is the only tool that enables us to decide our future at the polls,” Anomo stated.

“I urge every eligible resident of Ikosi-Ejinrin to participate in this exercise. The LCDA will also assist in making the process as easy as possible. Do not miss this opportunity.”

The chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to mobilizing residents through public awareness campaigns, community engagement, and support services to ensure maximum participation.

The Continuous Voters Registration initiative forms part of INEC’s broader strategy to expand voter access and improve electoral credibility ahead of the next general elections.
