In a powerful step towards youth empowerment and gender inclusion, the MFA Ambassadors Ladies of Legacy have officially launched a free skill acquisition training program for school girls currently on holiday.
EpeInsights learnt that the initiative aims to equip young girls with practical and marketable skills to enhance their personal development and open doors to future opportunities.
The program, themed around empowerment and legacy-building, began on Monday, August 11th, 2025, and is being held at the Otunla Town Hall, Ibeju-Lekki.
Classes run Monday through Friday, offering structured, hands-on training across four key areas:
- Graphics Design
- Microsoft Office Packages
- Didi and Hair Locking
- Shoe Making
By focusing on both digital and vocational skills, the MFA Ladies of Legacy aim to nurture well-rounded individuals who can navigate the demands of a fast-evolving world while maintaining cultural relevance.
In a statement issued by the group, Secretary General of the MFA Ladies of Legacy, Olowu Kemisola, emphasized the importance of equipping the girl child with more than just academic knowledge.
“This initiative is about giving young girls the tools they need to dream, build, and lead. Our mission is to invest in their futures by ensuring they leave this program with tangible skills and a renewed sense of purpose,” she said.
One unique aspect of the program is its empowerment package, exceptional participants will receive starter kits and additional resources to help them immediately begin practicing or monetizing their new skills after the training concludes.
The program has already garnered attention from local stakeholders and parents who praise the organization’s commitment to community development.
