As part of its ongoing commitment to educational development and youth empowerment, the Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has flagged off its annual Summer Coaching Programme for students within the community.

EpeInsights reports that the programme, which began this week, is scheduled to run every Monday to Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM throughout the summer break.

The initiative is a free educational support programme designed to keep students academically engaged during the holidays while helping them prepare for the new school year. According to the Office of the Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, the summer coaching targets both primary and secondary school students:

  • Primary school pupils are to attend sessions at Lekki Primary School
  • Secondary school students are to gather at Lekki Senior Secondary School

In a public announcement, the Council urged students to take full advantage of the opportunity, describing it as a valuable platform to “learn, revise, and strengthen their academic foundation before resuming the new school term.”

“We are happy to announce that summer coaching has started for our students in Lekki LCDA. Our students are vehemently advised to attend and make good use of this opportunity to learn and improve,” the statement read.

The coaching programme covers core academic subjects and is facilitated by experienced educators who volunteer their time to support the community’s educational growth.

The sessions aim to reinforce learning, bridge knowledge gaps, and boost the confidence of students, especially those who may have struggled during the last academic session.

Parents, guardians and community leaders have been encouraged to support the initiative by ensuring that their children and wards attend regularly and punctually.

The LCDA also urged residents to spread the word among families in the area to maximize student participation.

This initiative forms part of a broader strategy by Lekki LCDA to invest in human capital development and promote equal access to educational opportunities across all age groups.

“Education remains the cornerstone of community development,” the Executive Chairman emphasized in previous remarks.

“By investing in our students during the holidays, we are shaping a brighter future for Lekki and its people.”

The programme is expected to run until the end of the holiday period, just before the new school term resumes in September.
