The people of Ibeju-Lekki Federal Constituency received a major boost on Thursday, August 7, 2025, as their representative in the House of Representatives, Hon. Prince Bayo Balogun, rolled out a fresh round of empowerment initiatives.
EpeInsights learnt that at the newly built Alhaji Lateef Balogun Market in Eleko, the lawmaker commissioned and handed over free lock-up shops to traders, alongside the distribution of tricycles, deep freezers and a welding machine to residents with women and youth as the main beneficiaries.
The market, constructed by Hon. Balogun, is part of his efforts to stimulate commerce and economic activity in the constituency.
Speaking at the event, he noted that the initiative was aimed at easing the impact of the fuel subsidy removal, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Mr. President has mandated every House of Representatives member to bring at least ₦1 billion worth of projects to their constituencies.
This is just the beginning similar markets will soon be built in Awoyaya and other parts of our constituency,” Balogun said.
Representing the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Special Adviser on Taxation and Revenue, Hon. AbdulKabir Opeyemi Ogungbo, praised Balogun for his alignment with federal and state development goals, describing him as “a lover of development whose commitment to his people remains unmatched.”
Political leaders, traditional rulers, and party executives, including APC State Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi (represented by Hon. Gbenga Balogun) and the Onisolu of Solu Alade Kingdom, Oba Muhydeen Balogun, commended the lawmaker’s track record. Several pledged open support for his third term bid in the House of Representatives.
With these initiatives, Hon. Bayo Balogun continues to position himself as a driving force for grassroots economic empowerment in Ibeju-Lekki, showing that political office can be a direct vehicle for community progress.
