The atmosphere was charged with excitement on Thursday, July 31, 2025, as the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area, Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, formally inaugurated the 6th Legislative Council of the LCDA.
EpeInsights reports that the ceremony, held at the Council Secretariat, brought together community stakeholders, traditional rulers, political leaders and well-wishers in a historic gathering.
During the inaugural session, Chairman Anomo officially constituted the Legislative Council and declared it open. He urged the newly elected councillors to faithfully represent their wards and work closely with the Executive Arm to advance the interests of the people.
He emphasized that their electoral victories were not trophies but mandates to serve.
“As we begin this new chapter, let us remember that we have been called to serve; our victories at the poll were not trophies but a mandate to serve. I assure our people that this second term will consolidate on our earlier gains and bring even more dividends of democracy to Ikosi-Ejinrin,” Anomo said.
Hon. Hassan Mustapha Owolabi of Ward E2 was re-elected as Leader of the House, pledging to lead a legislature that is accountable, responsive, and people-centered.
Other leadership roles were filled as follows: Hon. Ganiyu Selim Oluwaseun was elected Deputy Leader of the House, Hon. Oluwo Martins Oriyomi became Majority Leader, Hon. Adesanya Shakirat Adeyinka took on the role of Chief Whip, Hon. Ajayi Olumide Samuel was appointed Deputy Majority Leader, and Hon. Disu Opeyemi Adebajo was named Deputy Chief Whip.
The event attracted prominent dignitaries including royal fathers, the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, former Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Jokotola Pelumi, political figures like Hon. Wasiu Odeyemi (WASTAB), former Executive Chairmen Hon. Olusegun Adetola and Hon. Samson Onanuga, and Nollywood stars Sola Kosoko and Foluke Daramola.
The inauguration was a powerful celebration of democracy and leadership, setting a promising tone for the future of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA under the continued guidance of Otunba Anomo.
