Lagos State Auditor-General’s Office Set to Begin Exit Meetings

The Office of the State Auditor- General (OSAG), has drawn up the time table schedules for the Year 2024 Audit Completion and Exit Meetings, after the conclusion of the statutory audit inspection of accounts and records of the State’s Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and the periodic checks on its Parastatals Organisation for the year ended 31st December, 2024.

The State Auditor-General, Dr. Muyiwa John Adetola, made the disclosure in a Circular, REF. No. CIR/AUD/GEN.459/VOL.1/90 dated 7th July, 2025.

According to him, the Year 2024 Audit Completion and Exit meeting will commence on 21st July, 2025.

Adetola said the Periodic Exit meeting is to provide MDAs the platform to provide evidence in support of their audit reports and responses to the audit observations and issues raised in the audit inspection reports, forwarded to the State Auditor-General’s office and resolve such issues where the need may arise.

Furthermore, the State Auditor-General enjoined all Permanent Secretaries, Accounting Officers and the Chief Executive Officers of MDAs to

personally lead their teams to the meeting as no issues would be resolved without the input of concerned Officers.

He emphasised that all formal representations and related evidence in respect of the audit queries raised in the audit reports should be forwarded in both hard and soft copies to the State Auditor-General’s Office on or before the scheduled date.
