As part of efforts toward shaping the future of urban development in Lagos State, Hon. Ogunkelu Sylvester, Chairman of the House Committee on Physical Planning and Urban Development and representative of Epe Constituency II, convened a strategic meeting with top-tier stakeholders on Tuesday.
EpeInsights learnt that the closed-door session brought together key figures including the Special Adviser on Urban Development, the Chairman of the Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA), and several departmental directors.
The aim was to forge forward-thinking strategies for tackling the city’s ever-evolving planning and infrastructure needs.
With Lagos’s population swelling and urban demands intensifying, the meeting centered on sustainable infrastructure, innovative planning, and enhanced inter-agency synergy.
The goal, according to Hon. Ogunkelu, it is clear to deliver a livable, inclusive and future-ready Lagos.
“Our committee remains fully committed to championing Mr. Governor’s T.H.E.M.E.S agenda,” Hon. Ogunkelu said, referring to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s six-pillar development plan. “We are not just planning for today. We are laying the groundwork for a Greater Lagos that works for everyone.”
The gathering underscores a growing legislative momentum in policy coordination, with a laser focus on aligning development projects with state goals, community needs and environmental sustainability.
As Lagos continues to urbanize at a rapid pace, such strategic engagements are crucial to ensuring the city doesn’t just grow but thrives.
