As the July 12 local government elections draw near, Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun, has called on residents to come out en masse and make their voices heard at the ballot box.
EpeInsights reports that Animashaun while speaking in an interview emphasized the power of the people’s vote in shaping the future of Epe, describing civic participation as the bedrock of democracy and effective grassroots governance.
“Your vote is your voice, and it is the key to shaping the future of our community,” she said, urging all eligible voters, including women, youth, and first-timers to defy past discouragements and seize the moment.
The council boss reassured the public of her administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring a peaceful, free, and fair election.
She disclosed that robust security arrangements have been put in place in collaboration with law enforcement agencies to guarantee a safe electoral process.
Animashaun also sent a strong message to political actors, urging them and their supporters to embrace peace and uphold the integrity of the elections. “Violence and electoral malpractice will not be tolerated,” she warned.
Reiterating her administration’s dedication to inclusive development, Animashaun pledged to continue prioritizing key areas such as infrastructure, youth empowerment, health care and education.
She added that the people’s mandate would further guide the council’s developmental strides.
