This win secures their spot as one of the top three schools that will represent the Epe Division at the Lagos State-Level Debate Championship.
Supervisor for Education in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Ogungbo Temitope Sofwan, who was present at the event, expressed immense pride in the students’ performance.
“Their eloquence, composure and critical thinking are not only commendable but also reflect the steady progress of educational standards in our local government,” Hon. Ogungbo said.
“We are truly proud of what Iwerekun Senior High School has achieved.”
He also acknowledged the support of teachers and the impactful coordination by the Shamdeen Imole Foundation under the supervision of the Federation of Epe Division Students’ Association (FEDSA), who convened the initiative to spotlight emerging youth voices and sharpen public speaking skills among students in public schools.
As Iwerekun advances to the next level, Hon. Ogungbo encouraged them to stay focused, keep the flag flying, and continue being an inspiration to their peers.
“Congratulations to Iwerekun Senior High School! Ibeju-Lekki stands firmly behind you,” he concluded.
