As the countdown to the July 12, 2025 Local Government Elections begins, the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its lineup of 57 chairmanship candidates.
EpeInsights reports that in Epe Local Government, the party is backing a well-known and trusted figure, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI for another term at the helm.
The atmosphere at the APC Secretariat in Acme, Ogba, was charged with energy as party stakeholders, supporters, and aspirants gathered for the big reveal.
The event marked a significant step in the party’s preparations for the grassroots polls.
Princess Surah’s emergence as the APC flagbearer in Epe didn’t come as a surprise to many.
Her victory in the recently concluded primary election was hard-fought, but well-earned, a testament to her record and the confidence the party and people of Epe have in her leadership.
Since assuming office, Princess Surah has been widely credited with driving impactful changes across Epe.
From improved infrastructure and access to healthcare, to educational development, empowerment programmes and local security initiatives, her administration has consistently prioritized the needs of the people.
“She has proven that leadership is about service,” said one party member in attendance.
“The primary election was competitive, but the outcome shows that performance speaks louder than promises.”
Supporters say her re-nomination sets the stage for continued progress in the local government. With the unveiling now done, attention turns to the campaign season and in Epe, the APC enters with strong momentum.
