In commemoration of Father’s Day, the Treasurer of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter, Amb. SMASE Provost Ibraheem Ogunbanwo, delivered a heartfelt tribute to fathers, mentors and male political leaders, recognizing their critical roles in shaping families, youth and communities.
EpeInsights reports that in a message, Ogunbanwo, a youth leader, educator and community advocate celebrated fatherhood as a noble calling rooted in selflessness, wisdom, and purpose.
“Today, we salute all fathers, guardians, mentors, and father figures across the globe,” he said.
“You are the pillars of strength, the givers of wisdom, the protectors of dreams, and the guiding lights in our families and communities.”
Ogunbanwo acknowledged that fatherhood transcends biology, including teachers, mentors, and leaders who pour into the next generation through guidance and inspiration.
He described true fatherhood as a continuous act of nurturing values, instilling discipline, and providing stability.
“Fatherhood demands integrity and a relentless commitment to shaping future generations,” he emphasized.
Going further, Ogunbanwo paid special tribute to the male political leaders in Epe Division, praising their enduring dedication to community development and youth empowerment.
“I want to sincerely commend the outstanding male political leaders of Epe Division who have continuously demonstrated fatherly wisdom, compassion, and purposeful leadership,” he said.
“Your sacrifices and unwavering love inspire the younger generation to strive for excellence, lead with integrity, and serve with compassion.”
Urging a collective commitment to positive fatherhood and principled leadership, Ogunbanwo emphasized the need for strong role models in society — men who lead by example and build value-driven communities.
“Let us all, as fathers and father figures, remain committed to building a better world, one child, one family, one community at a time.”
He concluded with a powerful rallying cry: “Build the youth, build the nation! Impact the youth, impact the nation positively!”
