Lagos State Commissioner for the Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Ahmed Seriki, has praised the people of Epe for the successful hosting of the 2025 Ojude Oba Festival, describing it as a shining example of unity, tradition and cultural continuity.

EpeInsights reports that in an interview during the celebration, Seriki described the annual festival as a powerful expression of identity, unity, and shared history, stressing that it continues to play a vital role in preserving Lagos State’s cultural heritage.

He said the people of Epe have shown exceptional commitment to preserving their customs and promoting peace. According to him, Ojude Oba is more than just a celebration; it is a homecoming for sons and daughters of Epe, both at home and in the diaspora.

The commissioner commended the efforts of Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, the Oloja of Epeland, for his leadership in preserving tradition and fostering harmony within the community.

Seriki stated that the Oloja’s dedication to unity and tradition is worthy of emulation.

He further emphasized the relevance of cultural festivals like Ojude Oba, noting their impact on intergenerational bonding, tourism, and local economic development.
