As Muslims in Lagos and across Nigeria mark the sacred festival of Eid-el-Adha, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended warm greetings and best wishes to the faithful, urging reflection on the values of sacrifice, unity and faith.

EpeInsights reports that the Governor in a message released on Thursday through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, encouraged Muslims to remain steadfast in their faith and committed to peaceful coexistence, especially during these challenging times.

“On behalf of my family and the government of Lagos State, I wish all our Muslim brothers and sisters a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration,” Governor Sanwo-Olu said.

He described Eid-el-Adha as a deeply symbolic event in the Islamic calendar, one that commemorates the unwavering faith and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim, who was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.

The governor urged residents to emulate those qualities, noting that enduring faith and patience often lead to profound rewards.

“This celebration reminds us that with unwavering belief, persistence in prayer, and resilience during difficult times, we can overcome challenges and achieve greatness,” he noted.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also used the occasion to appeal to Lagosians and Nigerians to foster unity and peace.

He emphasized the need to avoid actions that could undermine the progress and stability of the state and the country at large.

“As we mark this sacred celebration, let us draw inspiration from Prophet Ibrahim’s example and commit to building a more harmonious and prosperous Lagos and Nigeria,” he added.
