The Lekki Local Council Development Area has strengthened educational access in Igbodola with the establishment of a new mini library aimed at improving learning opportunities for pupils in the riverine community.
Epe Insights reports that the initiative was carried out under the administration of the Executive Chairman of Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, as part of efforts to bridge educational gaps and promote reading culture among schoolchildren.
Before the intervention, many pupils in Igbodola faced difficulties accessing textbooks and learning materials, limiting their ability to study beyond classroom hours.
Officials noted that the lack of educational resources had long affected academic performance and learning development in the community.
The newly established mini library at Community Primary School, Igbodola, has now been fully furnished with textbooks and learning materials for pupils.
The facility is designed to support improved literacy, encourage independent study, and enhance overall academic performance among students.

Education stakeholders explained that the project reflects the council’s commitment to inclusive development, especially in hard-to-reach riverine communities.
They added that providing learning materials directly within schools will help reduce educational inequality across the council area.
The library initiative is also expected to promote a stronger reading culture among pupils and encourage continuous learning outside the classroom.
Parents and community members in Igbodola have welcomed the development, describing it as a major boost to education in the area.
Some residents expressed appreciation to the council for prioritizing children’s education and addressing long-standing challenges in accessing learning resources.

School officials also commended the project, noting that it will significantly improve teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
They emphasized that the availability of books within the school environment will enhance academic performance and reduce dropout risks.
The Lekki LCDA administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring that educational development reaches all communities, including riverine settlements.
Officials stated that similar interventions will continue across other schools within the council area as part of broader educational support programs.
The project forms part of ongoing efforts by the local government to expand access to quality education and promote long-term human capital development.
