Officials explained that the Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme was introduced by the Lagos State Government to provide residents with access to affordable and quality healthcare services.

Participants were also enlightened on how health insurance can reduce financial pressure associated with medical treatment and emergency healthcare needs.

Speaking during the programme, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali encouraged residents to take advantage of the opportunities provided through the health insurance scheme.

He emphasized that access to healthcare should not be limited by financial challenges, especially for vulnerable individuals and low-income families.

According to the chairman, the scheme has already been paid for under the government support structure, assuring beneficiaries that they would not face deductibles or additional out-of-pocket expenses for covered services.

Engr. Kasali further highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare, regular medical checkups, and early treatment in maintaining healthier communities.

Speakers at the event also discussed the role of EKOSHA in bridging healthcare gaps for vulnerable residents across Lagos State.

They noted that the initiative was designed to support indigent citizens who may struggle to afford healthcare coverage on their own.

Healthcare advocates at the programme stressed that wider participation in health insurance schemes would help improve public health outcomes and reduce avoidable health complications.

Participants were encouraged to share information about the programme with family members, neighbours, and other community residents.
