The administration of Rasaki Bamidele Kasali has commenced another phase of road stabilization projects across several communities in Lekki Local Council Development Area.
Epe Insights reports that the initiative focuses on the use of stone base intervention, a method aimed at improving road durability, reducing erosion, and enhancing accessibility for residents and motorists.
Officials disclosed that the new phase builds on the success of earlier interventions carried out in areas such as Okun Ise, where road conditions were significantly improved following similar works.
The stone base technique has proven effective in stabilizing roads, especially in flood-prone and erosion-affected areas, making it a practical solution for many communities within the LCDA.

Preparatory activities for the new phase are already underway. Heaps of stone materials have been strategically placed along targeted roads, signaling the immediate commencement of construction work.
Communities set to benefit from this phase include Omiyele Street, Ikegun Road 2, Onanuga Street, and Lepia.
Residents in these areas have long expressed concerns about poor road conditions, particularly during the rainy season when erosion and flooding disrupt movement and daily activities.
The intervention is expected to address these challenges by providing a more stable road surface that improves mobility and reduces wear and tear on vehicles.
According to the council leadership, the project reflects a commitment to practical and people-centered governance. It prioritizes infrastructure solutions that directly impact the everyday lives of residents.

Community members have welcomed the development, describing it as timely and necessary. Many expressed optimism that the project would ease transportation challenges and boost local economic activities.
Observers noted that improved road networks often lead to increased connectivity, better access to essential services, and enhanced overall quality of life.
The administration emphasized that the project is part of a broader strategy to upgrade infrastructure across Lekki LCDA, with a focus on sustainability and long-term benefits.
Stakeholders also highlighted the importance of continuous maintenance and monitoring to ensure the durability of the roads after completion.

As work progresses, residents are advised to cooperate with contractors and adhere to any temporary traffic adjustments put in place to facilitate smooth execution of the project.
The council chairman reiterated his commitment to expanding development initiatives that respond to the needs of the people, particularly in underserved communities.
He assured that more infrastructure projects would be rolled out in phases to cover additional areas within the LCDA.
The ongoing road stabilization efforts underscore the administration’s drive to create a more accessible, safe, and conducive environment for all residents.
With the expansion of this intervention, expectations are high that more communities will experience improved road conditions and enhanced mobility in the coming months.
