The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has conducted a comprehensive field assessment of ongoing infrastructure projects across key communities in the council area.

The chairman emphasized that governance must be visible and impactful. He noted that projects must be monitored closely to ensure quality and relevance.

At Iraboko CDA in Awoyaya, attention was focused on a community-led road rehabilitation project. Olowa commended residents for their initiative.

He described the effort as a model for participatory development. The chairman approved the paving of about 250 metres of road to support the project.

In Promise Land Estate, the inspection centered on a road and drainage project. The initiative is a collaboration between the community and the local government.

Olowa reviewed completed drainage and interlocking works. He recalled earlier support provided by the council.

The local government had supplied 600 bags of cement and 30 tonnes of granite. These materials contributed to the progress of the project.

Following the inspection, additional approval was granted. This includes materials for constructing about 600 metres of drainage.

Plans also include the construction of a culvert. The local government will handle the paving of the road.

In Araromi Community, the inspection covered multiple projects. The chairman assessed ongoing and proposed developments.

Accompanied by Lukman Arowolo, Olowa inspected Governor’s Road linking the Lekki–Epe Expressway.

He approved the reclamation of encroached sections of the road. This is aimed at preserving access and infrastructure integrity.

The team also visited a proposed site for a school complex. Ongoing drainage works in the Ajah axis were equally reviewed.

Officials said the approach reflects integrated development planning. It combines infrastructure, education, and environmental management.

The inspection continued in Lakowe, a rapidly growing area. The focus was on road construction projects.
