The Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) has called on residents to enrol in its ongoing admission exercise at Skills Acquisition Centres across the state.
Epe Insights reports that the centres are located in Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos, and Epe divisions to ensure accessibility and inclusive participation.
Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Bolaji Cecilia Dada, said the programme offers vocational, entrepreneurial, and computer-based training.

She noted that the courses align with the Education & Technology and 21st Century Economy pillars of the THEMES Plus Agenda.
Available programmes include Computer Studies, Catering and Hotel Management, Welding Fabrication, Fashion Design, Hairdressing, Shoe and Leather Works, and Furniture Making.

Other courses cover Photography, Aluminium Fabrication, Textile Design, Bead Stringing, Air Conditioning Repair, Tile Laying, Printing Technology, Pottery, Adult Literacy, and Barbering.
Hon. Dada stated that the initiative is central to WAPA’s mandate of poverty alleviation and human capital development.
She described the centres as pathways to empowerment, job creation, and economic inclusion.

The Commissioner encouraged women, men, youths, and vulnerable groups to register at centres within their divisions.
She added that qualified instructors and modern tools are in place to ensure quality and practical training.

The admission and registration exercise is currently ongoing across all centres.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable empowerment and improved livelihoods for residents.
