The Premier Club of Epe Division, Epe Club,held a landmark ceremony in Lagos to celebrate and immortalise one of its most revered leaders, Alhaji (Chief) Shakiru Akanni Seriki Bamu (GCEC).

Epe Insights reports that the ceremony, held at the Regency Hall, Otunba Jobi-Fele Way, Alausa, Ikeja, attracted political leaders, royal fathers, captains of industry, and stakeholders from across Lagos State and beyond.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was represented by the Chief of Staff, while the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, represented Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa was represented by the Chief Whip of the House.

In his welcome address, Epe Club President, Chief Olayemi Dada, described the event as a historic tribute to a life of courage, sacrifice, and unwavering service to Epe Division, noting that Seriki Bamu mentored leaders long before youth participation became mainstream.

Hon. Wale Raji, representing Epe Federal Constituency, praised the celebrant for laying a strong foundation for responsible leadership in the division, describing him as a guiding force for many public office holders.

Local government chairmen across Epe Division commended Seriki Bamu for his unifying influence and consistent commitment to community development.

Hon. Abiodun Tobun applauded Epe Club for recognising its heroes while alive, describing the initiative as worthy of emulation.

Chairman of the occasion and Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, praised the club’s foresight, noting that the unveiling of a facility named after Seriki Bamu symbolised an enduring legacy and institutional memory.

The event climaxed with the formal launch of the Seriki Bamu facility, cementing his legacy within Epe Club and Epe Division.
