Members of the vibrant youth and social group, Valentino Base, have joined the growing list of voices mourning the passing of the Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Shefiu Adewale Olatunji (Bamgbopa Eshinlokun I), who died on May 31, 2025.

EpeInsights reports that in a heartfelt condolence message signed by Comrade Waheed Okanlawon, popularly known as Igoo, Valentino Club described the late monarch as a father figure, a unifier and a symbol of dignity whose reign brought honour to the traditional institution of Epe.

“Kabiyesi was more than a traditional ruler; he was a symbol of unity, wisdom, and dignity—an embodiment of leadership who dedicated his life to the peace and progress of our great kingdom,” the message read.

Valentino Base praised the monarch’s peaceful reign and cultural contributions, noting that his legacy would endure in the hearts of the people of Epe and beyond.

“We express our heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the traditional council, and the good people of Epe Kingdom. May Almighty Allah grant Kabiyesi eternal rest in Aljanah Firdaus,” the statement added.

The Olu-Epe, who ascended the throne in 2010, was widely celebrated for his calm leadership, commitment to education, and cultural revival efforts—including his support for the Kayokayo Festival, which showcases the rich history of the Epe people.

His passing has drawn tributes from traditional leaders, government officials, and local organisations across Lagos State, all mourning the loss of a monarch who embodied humility, wisdom, and service.

“E sun re o, Kabiyesi. You lived with honour, and you shall be remembered with pride,” the Valentino Base concluded.

As funeral rites commence in the coming days, the people of Epe continue to honour the memory of a monarch whose legacy of unity and cultural pride will resonate for generations.Valentino Base Epe Mourns Olu-Epe, Oba Dr. Shefiu Adewale Olatunji
