The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) of Lagos State Education District II, Mr. Olusegun Osinaike, has embarked on a working visit to several public schools in the Ikorodu axis as part of efforts to monitor the ongoing Third Term Examinations and assess conditions across schools in the district.
EpeInsights learnt that during the monitoring exercise, Mr. Osinaike visited Elepe Junior and Senior High School in Elepe, as well as Lasuwa Junior and Senior High Schools and Abule Eko Junior and Senior Schools in Ijede.
He inspected the conduct of examinations, engaged with school principals and staff, and evaluated the overall learning environment to ensure adherence to academic standards and examination integrity.
“Examinations must be conducted with strict adherence to rules and fairness. We aim to instil discipline, integrity, and excellence in our students. What we permit today becomes the standard tomorrow,” he stated.
The TG/PS emphasized the importance of creating a conducive atmosphere for examinations, noting that a secure and orderly environment plays a vital role in fostering academic success.
In addition to the academic monitoring, Mr. Osinaike used the visit to carry out an on-the-spot assessment of land encroachment challenges affecting Lasuwa and Abule Eko schools.
He expressed serious concern about the activities of land grabbers encroaching on school premises and disrupting educational activities.
“The safety of our school environments and the sanctity of public education spaces must be preserved. We are working with relevant authorities to ensure swift intervention,” Mr. Osinaike said.
The visit highlights Education District II’s commitment to upholding academic integrity, protecting public school assets, and ensuring a safe, secure, and productive learning environment for all students within the district.
