Students of Army Children High Schools in Epe have received a boost to their learning environment on Thursday, September 18, 2025, as Lions Clubs International, District 404A3 Nigeria, officially donated 100 renovated desks to the schools.
EpeInsights reports that the District Governor, Lion Mary Onu, while speaking at the handover ceremony, said the initiative reflects the Club’s commitment to supporting education and making learning more comfortable for students.
“This project is one of the many humanitarian services Lions Clubs carry out across communities, we are dedicated to making life better for the less privileged and we believe that comfortable learning spaces will encourage academic excellence” she said.
Onu praised the facilitators behind the project, described as “intending Lions of Epe,” who are working toward establishing the first Lions Club in the division. She also acknowledged the school principal, Mr. Pasheda Olufemi Bamidele, and thanked Lions members from Ikorodu and Ijebu-Ode for their support.
Hon. Balogun Moshood Ademola and Engr. Ayobami Salami, two of the project facilitators, said the gesture highlighted the importance of service to humanity. They pledged to ensure that an Epe Lions Club is established soon to bring more development initiatives to the community.
Adding perspective, Lion Ahmed Ajayi noted that Lions Clubs International has more than 1.4 million members across 200 countries, all united by a mission to carry out impactful humanitarian services. He encouraged residents of Epe to join the global network and contribute to local development.
The principals of the schools, Mr. Pasheda Olufemi Bamidele (Senior School) and Mrs. Erinle Olufunke (Junior School), expressed deep gratitude on behalf of Lagos State Education District III. They described the intervention as timely, stressing that partnerships like this are essential to complement government efforts in improving education.
Excited teachers and students celebrated the donation with photographs, acknowledging the Lions Club’s contribution as a meaningful step toward enhancing their academic experience.
