In a show of solidarity and gratitude, a coalition of student bodies across Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has endorsed the second term ambition of the council’s Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa.
EpeInsights gathered that the endorsement came during a courtesy visit to the Chairman on Tuesday, where the students expressed appreciation for his visible contributions to education and youth empowerment.
Led by the Supervisor for Education, Hon. Ogungbo Temitope Sofwan, and the Senior Special Assistant to the Chairman on Education, Student Affairs and Mobilisation, Comrade Oladimeji Ibrahim, the student delegation described Hon. Olowa’s leadership as inclusive, accessible, and visionary.
Under Hon. Olowa’s first term, the council recorded remarkable achievements in the education sector, including: renovation of public schools, scholarship disbursement to deserving students, launch of youth development and empowerment programmes as well as enhanced access to educational resources for underprivileged students.
The visiting groups included members of the Young Leaders Forum, People Progressive Change, National Association of Ibeju-Lekki Students (NAILS), and the Federation of Epe Students Association (FEDSA), among others.
Speaking during the visit, the student leaders praised Hon. Olowa for creating platforms that promote youth development, leadership, and academic excellence.
“We are here not just to say thank you, but to publicly endorse your second term bid,” said one of the student leaders.
“Your support for students and young people is unmatched, and we believe continuity will bring even greater transformation.”
In his response, Hon. Olowa expressed gratitude for the endorsement and reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to education.
“Your support means the world to me. You are the future we are building for. I promise to double efforts to ensure that education and youth-focused programmes remain a top priority in the next phase,” he said.
The endorsement further boosts Hon. Olowa’s growing support base as he prepares for re-election, with education and youth inclusion standing out as pillars of his campaign.
