Senator Mukail Adetokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to democratic values as the nation marks 26 years of uninterrupted democratic governance.

EpeInsights reports that Senator Abiru, in his Democracy Day message on Wednesday, described the occasion as a time for reflection and appreciation of Nigeria’s democratic journey since the return to civilian rule in 1999.

“Though the path has not been without challenges, we have every reason to celebrate the resilience, growth, and promise that our democracy represents,” he said.

He commended the Nigerian people for their courage and determination, urging citizens to continue playing active roles in sustaining democratic principles.

The senator also expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and his administration’s policy direction, noting that the reforms being undertaken are vital for long-term national growth.

“As we navigate this critical period, I urge continued support and understanding for President Tinubu’s bold policy decisions. Though the sacrifices may be difficult, they are necessary, and the rewards are already beginning to show across sectors,” he stated.

Abiru reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Lagos East and working towards policies that promote inclusive growth and development.

He concluded with a message of unity and hope: “Let us continue to uphold the values of democracy and work together to build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.”
