The Epe Club has intensified its efforts to immortalise Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu, the Apase of Epe Land, by engaging key stakeholders in Epe Division. The initiative seeks to recognise Baba Bamu’s leadership, dedication, and contributions to the region’s development.
Epe Insights reports that the club’s delegation, led by Chief Olayemi Dada, President of Epe Club, visited His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, to formally brief him on the proposed immortalisation. The visit underscores the club’s commitment to securing community and traditional support for the initiative.

Oba Ogunsanwo commended the vision of Epe Club, describing the immortalisation move as long overdue. He, however, challenged the group to complement individual recognition with broader efforts aimed at sustainable development across Epe Division.
The monarch emphasised that Epe Club, as one of the most influential socio-political platforms in the division, should leverage its network to ensure that businesses operating in Epe prioritise youth employment and empowerment. He also urged regular stakeholder engagements, noting that collaborative action is essential for meaningful progress.

The club highlighted that the consultations with traditional authorities are part of a structured approach to ensure that Bamu immortalisation is widely endorsed across the division. This step also reinforces community ownership of the initiative and promotes unity among stakeholders.
The engagement reflects a broader strategy by the Epe Club to balance recognition of notable leaders with practical contributions toward the socio-economic development of Epe Division. The initiative is expected to generate significant local support and encourage other organisations to champion similar efforts.

With momentum building, the project continues to attract attention from political, traditional, and community leaders. The immortalisation of Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu is set to become a landmark event, celebrating leadership while inspiring future development initiatives in Epe Division.
