The people of Epe are set to enjoy free, life-changing healthcare as the much-anticipated Rotary Health Mission & Menstrual Care Project 2 officially commenced today, Wednesday, 27th August 2025.
EpeInsights reports that The landmark initiative is being championed by the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, in collaboration with Rotary International District 9126, District 5170, and The Rotary Foundation.
The two-day outreach, holding at the Papa Primary Health Care Center in Epe from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm daily, offers general medical consultations, free essential drugs, laboratory investigations, distribution of sanitary pads for women and girls, and screenings for life-saving surgeries. Simultaneously, at the Epe Primary Health Center, residents are benefiting from free eye tests with 100 prescription glasses, blood glucose checks, and malaria tests.
The program will reach its peak on Saturday, 30th August 2025, with a Grand Surgery Day at Papa Primary Health Care Center. On that day, major and life-restoring operations such as hernia repairs, eye care procedures, and other essential surgeries will be carried out free of charge.
Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Animashaun reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to people-focused governance, describing the outreach as more than just a medical mission but a reflection of compassion, a promise of healing, and a clear demonstration of the council’s resolve to place the health and well-being of Epe residents above all else.
