The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, has distributed thousands of notebooks to pupils in public primary schools across both upland and riverine communities in Epe.
EpeInsights learnt that the initiative, carried out on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, aims to reduce the financial burden on parents while ensuring that pupils have access to essential learning materials.
The gesture is part of the council’s broader educational support programme designed to enhance learning outcomes and promote equal opportunities for all children.
Speaking at the distribution ceremony, Princess Animashaun reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to educational development, noting that access to learning materials remains a key driver of academic success.
“Education remains the most powerful tool for shaping the future of Epe. Our goal is to ensure that no child is left behind, regardless of their background or location,” she stated.
Teachers, parents, and community leaders praised the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that has boosted morale among pupils and educators alike. A head teacher from one of the beneficiary schools commended the council’s effort, noting that the notebooks would “significantly ease the burden on parents, especially those in riverine areas.”
The event was filled with excitement as pupils expressed their gratitude through songs and prayers for the council chairman’s continued success and leadership.
Princess Animashaun’s administration has been consistent in supporting education through infrastructure upgrades, teacher motivation, and student welfare programmes.
