The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has received the leadership of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) on a courtesy visit at the council secretariat.
EpeInsights learnt that the delegation, led by NULGE Chairman Hon. Sewanu Odufowora, visited to felicitate with Hon. Olowa on his recent emergence as Chairman of Conference 57, the umbrella body of council chairmen in Lagos State.
Welcoming the executives, Hon. Olowa expressed appreciation for the solidarity shown by the union and commended NULGE’s pivotal role in sustaining the effectiveness of local governance.
He assured the delegation of his continuous support and urged members of the union to remain exemplary representatives of the civil service workforce.
During the meeting, Comrade Odufowora highlighted key issues affecting NULGE members, including the need for sustainable revenue generation, improved infrastructure for officials, and tackling redundancy within the workforce.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the union and council leadership in addressing these concerns for the greater efficiency of local government administration.
Also present at the engagement were the Council Manager, Mr. Oladipupo Otinwa, and a former NULGE executive, Alhaji Monsuru Oludaisi Kazeem, alongside other dignitaries.
The visit was described as both cordial and constructive, reinforcing the partnership between the council leadership and NULGE in promoting a more effective, people-centered local governance system in Ibeju-Lekki.
