The newly appointed Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Office – Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ms. Toyin Rahmat Ogunlana, has officially assumed duty with a clear message to staff: uphold discipline, professionalism, and teamwork in the discharge of their duties.

EpeInsights reports that Ms. Ogunlana resumed at the Cabinet Office following her swearing-in by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on October 10, 2025, alongside other newly appointed Permanent Secretaries.

She was warmly received on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. ’Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, by the Director, Administration and Human Resource, Mrs. Omotayo Gbajabiamila-Olamona, and other members of staff.

In her welcome remarks, Mrs. Gbajabiamila-Olamona described the new Permanent Secretary as an amiable and visionary administrator whose wealth of experience would greatly benefit the Office and the Lagos State Government.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Ms. Ogunlana pledged to build on the achievements of her predecessors while advancing the operational efficiency of the Cabinet Office.

“I will strengthen communication, teamwork, and collaboration across all departments and units to support the government’s vision of #Greater Lagos Rising,” she said.

She emphasized that while her leadership style is approachable and people-oriented, she remains uncompromising on discipline and productivity.

“I am soft on people, but I do not compromise on standards,” she affirmed, pledging to uphold professionalism, promote staff welfare, and ensure efficient service delivery.

Ms. Ogunlana further outlined her commitment to digitizing records and ensuring the timely implementation of Cabinet decisions to enhance effective governance across the State.

During the brief ceremony, she received the handover notes from the former Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kehinde Farouk Gbajumo, followed by a tour of departments, where she interacted with staff at their duty posts.

Before her appointment, Ms. Ogunlana served as Director-General, Lagos State Records and Archives Bureau (LASRAB). With over two decades of experience in the Lagos State Civil Service, she has held strategic roles in Human Resources, Public Administration, and Project Management across various Ministries and Agencies.

A certified member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) and the Institute of Strategic Management, Ms. Ogunlana holds academic qualifications in Islamic Studies, Mass Communication, and Business Administration (Human Resource and Personnel Management).

Her appointment, widely regarded as a testament to competence and dedication, positions her to drive transformation, innovation and efficiency within the Cabinet Office–Office of the SSG.
