The Head of the Naval Police, Epe Base, Lagos State, recently promoted to the rank of Commodore, has paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Dr. Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Telade IV, following his promotion and new posting.
Epe Insights reports that the visit served as the official introduction of the new Naval Police Commander to the royal father and the Ilara community in the Epe Division of Lagos State.
The naval delegation was warmly received at the palace, where discussions centered on strengthening peace, security, and sustained collaboration between the Nigerian Navy and the host community.
The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to reaffirm their shared commitment to maintaining stability and harmonious coexistence within Ilara Kingdom and neighboring communities.
Welcoming the delegation, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom offered royal blessings and prayers for the Naval Police leadership, while assuring continued support for lawful security initiatives.
“The palace will continue to support all lawful efforts aimed at sustaining peace, security, and stability in Ilara Kingdom and the Epe Division at large,” the monarch stated.
The royal father emphasized the importance of synergy between traditional institutions and security agencies in safeguarding lives and property.
Speaking during the visit, the Head of the Naval Police, Epe Base, described the courtesy call as a mark of respect and partnership with the traditional institution.
He stressed that effective security operations depend largely on strong community relations, intelligence sharing, and mutual trust.
The Commodore reaffirmed the Nigerian Navy’s commitment to working closely with community leaders to ensure peace and security across Epe Division.
The visit further reinforced the existing cordial relationship between the Nigerian Navy and Ilara Kingdom.
