The Palace of the Aladeshoyin of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, Epe Division, Lagos State, witnessed a strong display of faith and unity as traditional rulers from within and outside Lagos State gathered for the Odo-Noforija Annual Prayer.
Epe Insights reports that the annual interfaith prayer session was hosted by His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba (Dr.) Babatunde (JP, FMBE) Olaogun Ogunlaja, the Aladeshoyin and Paramount Ruler of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, in collaboration with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Eredo District.
The programme, themed “All Power Belong to God” with a scriptural anchor from Psalm 62:7, attracted monarchs, clergy, political leaders, community stakeholders, and residents from Odo-Noforija and neighbouring communities including Poka, Odomola, Odo-Egiri, Pobo, and Okemagba.
Activities during the prayer session included hymns, praise and worship, intercessory prayers, Bible reading, special musical renditions, and a New Year address by the monarch, all centred on thanksgiving and seeking divine guidance for the year.
Special prayers were offered for the Aladeshoyin and his household, fellow traditional rulers, the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, the Chairman of Epe Local Government, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, CAN leadership, and the peace and prosperity of Nigeria.
In his remarks, Kabiyesi urged traditional rulers to adopt community-wide prayer initiatives, stressing that spiritual unity remains vital to peace, development, and good governance at the grassroots.
Several monarchs graced the occasion, including Oba Makun, Oba Aladepekun, the Oba of Araromi, the Oba of Ago-Iwoye, and other prominent royal fathers from across the region.
Commending the initiative, Oba Stephen Adeleke of Oke-Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo, described the programme as inspiring, pledging to replicate the prayer initiative in his domain to foster progress and harmony.
