The Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment (MCCTI) has engaged leaders of the Akodo community under Parcel A of the Lekki resettlement scheme to address land and development-related issues.
Epe Insights reports that the stakeholders’ meeting was hosted by the Honourable Commissioner, Mrs Folashade Kaosarat Bada Ambrose, at the Ministry’s Conference Room as part of efforts to strengthen government–community relations in the Lekki axis.
The engagement focused on reviewing land matters linked to the resettlement scheme and promoting orderly and sustainable development within host communities.
In attendance were the Chairman, House Committee on Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Hon. Abiodun Tobun, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Babatunde Onigbanjo.

Also present were the Alakodo of Akodo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba AbdulHakeem Olokodana, alongside the Managing Director of Lekki Worldwide Investments Limited, Mr Adeola Olusodo.
The Administration Controller of Lekki Free Zone Development Company, Mr Akorede Ojomu, representatives of relevant MDAs, the Local Government Council, and members of the Akodo community also participated.
Discussions centred on boundary demarcation of project land, suspension of illegal sand mining, access control challenges, and areas requiring improved collaboration.

Stakeholders reviewed progress since the last engagement and agreed on practical steps to strengthen cooperation and compliance with established frameworks.
Mrs Ambrose emphasised the need for sustained dialogue and transparency in resolving disputes.

She noted that peaceful coexistence and collaboration remain essential for sustainable development across the Lekki corridor.
The meeting reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to inclusive engagement and structured development within host communities.
