The Lekki Local Council Development Area has completed the construction of a perimeter fence at RCM Primary School, Oriyanrin, as part of efforts to strengthen school safety and protect public education assets.
Epe Insights reports that the project was executed under the leadership of the Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), in line with his administration’s commitment to improving public school infrastructure and ensuring a safe learning environment for pupils.
Speaking on the intervention, Engr. Kasali stated that the safety of schoolchildren remains a top priority of his administration, stressing that education can only thrive in a secure and well-protected environment.
He explained that the newly completed fence will prevent unauthorized access to the school premises, safeguard facilities, and enhance overall security for pupils, teachers, and staff.
“The safety of our school children is non-negotiable. Quality education can only thrive where pupils are adequately protected, and this is why we will continue to invest in infrastructure that secures our public schools,” the chairman said.
Engr. Kasali noted that the fencing of RCM Primary School, Oriyanrin, is part of a broader initiative by the Lekki LCDA to upgrade public school infrastructure, improve learning conditions, and promote the welfare of pupils across communities within the council area.
He reaffirmed that his administration remains committed to timely interventions that address critical needs in the education sector, particularly projects that directly impact child safety and learning outcomes.
Residents, parents, and education stakeholders within Oriyanrin community have commended the project, describing it as a timely and thoughtful intervention.
They noted that the perimeter fence will help preserve school facilities, reduce vandalism, and boost confidence among parents and teachers regarding the safety of pupils during school hours.
