Teachers in Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have been urged to embrace continuous learning and innovation as a way of meeting the fast-changing demands of modern education.

EpeInsights reports that this call was made at a one-day capacity building workshop organised by the council to strengthen the skills of teachers and equip them for 21st-century classroom realities.

The training, which featured intensive sessions on modern teaching methods, the integration of technology in the classroom, and teachers’ wellbeing, brought together educators from across the LCDA. It was designed to ensure that teachers remain adaptable, creative, and responsive to the needs of today’s learners.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), commended the teachers for their dedication and service, describing them as the “super teachers” at the heart of the educational system.

Kasali encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained to improve learning outcomes in schools while reaffirming the council’s commitment to supporting teachers as key drivers of educational policies.

Kasali said: Our teachers are the frontline implementers of curriculum and education policies. By equipping them with modern skills and resources, we are building stronger foundations for the future of our children. I encourage every teacher here today to put into practice the lessons learned so that our pupils can thrive in an increasingly competitive world.”

The training featured sessions facilitated by Dr. Bukola Lawal and Hon. Fatai Taiwo, who shared practical strategies for enhancing classroom engagement, promoting critical thinking among students, and leveraging technology to make learning more interactive.

Both facilitators also emphasized the importance of teachers’ mental health and wellbeing, noting that a motivated teacher produces better-performing students.

The Executive Chairman expressed gratitude to all participating teachers, describing them as indispensable to the growth of education in Lekki LCDA. He reiterated the council’s determination to continue investing in capacity development initiatives that empower teachers and raise education standards.Lekki LCDA Holds Capacity Training for Teachers to Tackle 21st Century Education Challenges
