The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) has expressed gratitude to the Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary of Education District VI, Mrs. Mojisola Yusuf, for her support during the recent Green Hands Creative Gardening for Kids programme.
EpeInsights reports that the appreciation was conveyed by LASPARK’s General Manager, Mrs. Popoola, during a courtesy visit to the Education District VI headquarters. Represented by Mr. Idowu Sunday, the General Manager thanked Mrs. Yusuf for approving the participation of students from the district in the October 8, 2025 edition of the initiative.
The Green Hands Creative Gardening for Kids programme is LASPARK’s flagship environmental education effort, aimed at nurturing young ambassadors for a greener Lagos. By engaging children in hands-on gardening activities, the initiative fosters creativity, environmental awareness, and a lifelong appreciation for nature.
During the visit, Mrs. Popoola highlighted the importance of stronger collaboration between LASPARK and Education District VI, particularly in promoting tree planting, environmental sustainability, and other greening projects in schools across the district. “Partnering with the education sector is essential to instilling environmental consciousness in young learners, ensuring that the next generation understands the importance of protecting and sustaining our ecosystems,” she said.
In response, Mrs. Mojisola Yusuf commended LASPARK for its proactive approach to environmental education and assured the Agency of the district’s continued support. She added that environmental awareness and sustainability are key components of Lagos State’s holistic approach to quality education.
Through initiatives like the Green Hands Creative Gardening for Kids, LASPARK continues to engage children in meaningful, hands-on environmental experiences that inspire creativity while promoting green living and sustainability.
