The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, yesterday played host to the Chairman of the Conference League of Chairmen, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, alongside his colleagues from across the state.
EpeInsights reports that the courtesy visit, held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, highlighted the growing collaboration between the legislative arm and local government authorities in strengthening grassroots governance.
Speaking during the engagement, Hon. Olowa, who also serves as Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, emphasized that the meeting with the Speaker was a reaffirmation of faith in Nigeria’s democratic journey under the bold leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He described the President’s ongoing reforms as “courageous steps toward re-engineering the nation’s economy and laying a firm foundation for progress and prosperity.”
In his response, Rt. Hon. Obasa commended the commitment of local government chairmen to effective service delivery and assured them of the Assembly’s total support.
He reiterated his belief in the strength of the third tier of government, stressing that consolidating governance at the grassroots remains critical to achieving sustainable development in Lagos and across the nation.
