The Lagos State Ministry of Establishments and Training has organised a two-day training programme focused on “Understanding Artificial Intelligence (AI)” for officers in the state public service.
EpeInsights reports that the training is aimed at equipping participants with essential knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and its practical applications in improving efficiency, decision-making, and innovation across government operations.
Declaring the programme open, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, represented by the Director of Training, Mrs. Modupe Animashaun, said the initiative reflects the Ministry’s commitment to developing a competent and future-ready workforce capable of leveraging technology for effective service delivery.
Abidakun explained that the programme would broaden participants’ understanding of AI concepts, enabling them to adapt to the ongoing digital transformation within the public sector.
“Our goal is not just to help officers work smarter and faster but to ensure they remain relevant and competitive in a rapidly evolving work environment,” she stated.
She further noted that Artificial Intelligence has become a major driver of efficiency and productivity globally, underscoring the need for public servants to be conversant with its tools and applications.
The training, which brings together 100 participants drawn from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), is expected to conclude tomorrow.
