The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali has continued the February 2026 edition of his administration’s monthly food distribution programme.
Epe Insights reports that the intervention is aimed at cushioning the effects of prevailing economic challenges on aged persons, widows, widowers, and other vulnerable residents across communities in Lekki LCDA.
Under the February exercise, a total of 2,000 bags of food items are being distributed to beneficiaries in two structured phases.
Phase One of the distribution was carried out on Friday, while Phase Two commenced in February 2026.
As with previous editions, the distribution is conducted on a door-to-door basis to ensure inclusiveness and eliminate stress for beneficiaries.
The approach also guarantees that the palliatives reach the intended recipients without diversion or exclusion.
The monthly food distribution initiative was introduced by Engr. Kasali during the nationwide palliative exercise in 2023.
Following his pledge to sustain the programme beyond the initial intervention, the Chairman has consistently delivered on that commitment.
The exercise has since become a regular feature of his administration’s social welfare agenda.
Residents of Lekki LCDA have continued to commend the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful.
Beneficiaries say the programme reflects responsive leadership and a clear understanding of grassroots needs.
Community members note that the consistency of the exercise distinguishes it from short-term relief efforts.
The February distribution further reinforces the administration’s focus on social protection and community welfare.
Officials of the council reaffirmed that the programme remains a priority for supporting vulnerable households.
