Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has commenced a comprehensive Unemployment Survey focused on youth and women across its communities.

EpeInsights reports that this move is aimed at tackling unemployment and to capture data on both skilled and unskilled individuals, paving the way for inclusive policy planning and job creation initiatives.

The survey, which kicked off on May 22 and runs through May 29, 2025, is being coordinated by the Department of Budget, Planning and Statistics.

Held at the Local Government Secretariat in Igando-Oloja, the registration exercise runs daily from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and has already begun attracting a significant turnout from residents eager to be part of the developmental agenda.

According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Akadiri Ayorinde, the survey is a proactive step towards understanding the employment landscape in Ibeju-Lekki and identifying opportunities for youth and women empowerment.

“This is more than just data collection it’s about giving our people a voice and creating a roadmap for real change,” he said.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity by participating in the ongoing exercise, which is expected to inform future training, entrepreneurial support, and job placement programs within the local government.

As the initiative gathers momentum, the local government reiterates its commitment to inclusive development and tackling unemployment head-on.Ibeju-Lekki Launches Unemployment Survey to Empower Youths and Women
