As part of a broader effort to uplift educational infrastructure and improve learning conditions in Ibeju-Lekki, the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has overseen the significant transformation of Akodo Primary School.
EpeInsights learnt that the project, which included the construction of a perimeter fence, installation of a new school gate and the renovation of classroom blocks, was implemented in response to longstanding issues of insecurity and structural decay that had plagued the school for years.
Before the intervention, Akodo Primary School operated in challenging conditions.
The lack of a perimeter fence and a secure entrance exposed pupils and staff to safety threats, while the dilapidated classrooms hindered effective learning and contributed to dwindling student morale and attendance.
Hon. Olowa’s administration responded with a comprehensive upgrade of the school’s infrastructure, reaffirming his commitment to educational development as a cornerstone of community growth.
The initiative has since created a more secure, dignified, and enabling environment for both teaching and learning.
“This effort is part of our strategic focus on improving public education across Ibeju-Lekki,” the Chairman stated.
“We believe that every child deserves a safe and inspiring place to learn, and this renovation is a step in the right direction.”
The rehabilitation of Akodo Primary School has not only boosted academic performance and renewed students’ enthusiasm but has also restored community confidence in the local education system.
This development forms part of Hon. Olowa’s 2021–2025 agenda, which places education at the forefront of sustainable development in the local government area.
