The re-elected Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, formally presented her Certificate of Return from the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) to her father, His Royal Majesty Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, the Oloja of Epe Land.
EpeInsights reports that the presentation ceremony, which took place at the royal palace in Epe, was rich in tradition and emotion, symbolizing gratitude, family ties and cultural reverence.
The event was attended by political allies, community leaders and members of the Animashaun royal family.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Surah expressed appreciation to her father and the people of Epe for their continued support.
“I came here today with gratitude in my heart and joy in my soul to show this Certificate of Return to my father, the man whose blessings and prayers have guided my journey,” she said.
She emphasized that her success was the result of collective faith and effort, adding, “Kabiyesi, your wisdom has shaped me, your faith in me has strengthened me and your love has carried me. This victory is not mine alone. It belongs to the entire Animashaun family and the sons and daughters of Epe, both home and abroad.”
In response, the Oloja of Epe expressed pride in his daughter’s achievements and offered royal blessings.
“Surah is not just my daughter, she is a daughter of the land. Her leadership is a reflection of the values we hold dear—respect, service, and integrity. May the ancestors and Almighty Allah continue to guide her path,” Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun said.
Community elder Chief Mufutau Abiodun also spoke at the occasion, commending the chairman’s leadership and commitment.
“This is a woman who leads with both heart and strength. She is raising the standard for local governance in Lagos,” he said.
The ceremony underscored the strong bond between culture and leadership in Epe, highlighting how heritage continues to play a central role in the lives of public servants.
With her renewed mandate and royal blessings, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun is set to begin another term of service, pledging to build on past achievements for the benefit of the Epe people.
