The 10th Legislative Council of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government was formally inaugurated on Monday, July 28, 2025, during a ceremony at the council secretariat in Igando-Oloja.
EpeInsights reports that the inauguration was attended by dignitaries from the federal and state governments, traditional rulers, party stakeholders and residents across the council area.

In his inaugural speech, Hon. Olowa reviewed the achievements of his first term, which included improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and youth development.
He pledged that his administration would focus on innovation, inclusive governance and sustainable development in the next four years.
The inauguration of the new legislative council was presided over by the Council Clerk, Mrs. Akinfala Oluwakemi Aramide.
Councillors-elect were sworn in and leadership positions within the council were filled. Hon. Olayinka Mojeed Oluwafemi (Ward F) was elected Leader of the House.
He will be supported by Hon. Ogungbo Nurudeen Tunde (Ward B) as Deputy Leader and Hon. Eletu Zainab Ayobola (Ward E) as Majority Leader.
Other councillors sworn in include Hon. Aromire Rasak Abidemi (Ward A), Hon. Sabiu Oluwakemi Rufai (Ward C1), Hon. Lawal Sebiu Alaba (Ward C2) and Hon. Musibau Shuaib Olorunju (Ward D).
APC stakeholders and community leaders commended Hon. Olowa’s performance during his first term, describing his leadership as results-oriented and focused on grassroots development.
Rep. Bayo Balogun expressed confidence in the chairman’s ability to deliver even greater results in his second term.
The ceremony ended with cultural displays and interfaith prayers, as residents expressed renewed optimism about the direction of governance in Ibeju-Lekki.
