The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has been conferred with the prestigious title of Fellow of the Lagos State Cooperative College (FLCC).
EpeInsights reports that this is in recognition of his outstanding contributions to youth empowerment and the growth of the cooperative sector within the local government.
The award was presented by the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperative, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, who represented the Governor of Lagos State at the event.
Hon. Olowa was lauded for his administration’s continuous investment in education, skills acquisition, and cooperative development, which have collectively elevated the capacity of young people in Ibeju-Lekki.
His free education and scholarship programmes have not only enhanced access to education but have begun to yield visible results.
A testament to this was the recognition of Miss Ahmed Abike, a beneficiary of the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government scholarship scheme, who emerged as the best graduating student of the Lagos State Cooperative College. Her success reflects the far-reaching impact of the Mayor’s educational policies, which are gaining accolades across Lagos State.
Other distinguished honourees of the FLCC award included Hon. Oladele Ajayi, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ibeju-Lekki Constituency II; Mr. Samuel Egube, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor; Engr. Razak Kasali, Chairman of Lekki LCDA; and Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, former Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University.
The ceremony was marked by celebration, commendations, and a renewed call for sustained investment in education and cooperative development.
The people of Ibeju-Lekki continue to hail Mayor Olowa for his visionary leadership, with many describing the honour as a well-deserved recognition of his commitment to inclusive governance and youth advancement.
