The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has approved the expansion of the ongoing Lakowe–Losoro Access Road project from 400 meters to 800 meters, as part of efforts to improve connectivity, drainage and community development across the area.
EpeInsights gathered that the extended section will now link directly to the Lagasa Primary Canal, a move aimed at enhancing water flow, preventing erosion, and ensuring long-term road durability.
During an inspection tour of the project on Thursday, Hon. Olowa expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, noting that excavation, road alignment, and reinforcement works on the extended stretch have already been completed.
“This extension is not just about adding length but ensuring quality and sustainability,” Olowa said.
“We’re building a road that improves access, supports proper drainage, and boosts mobility and economic activities within the Lakowe–Losoro axis.”
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing infrastructure projects that directly improve the living standards of residents, describing the initiative as part of his broader vision for a more connected and prosperous Ibeju-Lekki.
Residents of Lakowe and its environs have lauded the development, describing it as a timely intervention that will ease movement, reduce flooding, promote business growth, and increase property value.
The Lakowe–Losoro Access Road project forms part of Ibeju-Lekki Council’s ongoing push for sustainable urban development and improved rural–urban connectivity within Lagos State.
